Position Overview
The Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician supports advanced patient care, diagnostics, anesthesia, specialty procedures, and client communication within our Internal Medicine department.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to Internal Medicine patients
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments accurately
- Assist with ultrasounds, endoscopy, feeding tubes, aspirates, transfusions, and anesthesia monitoring
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples
- Maintain accurate treatment sheets and medical records
- Educate clients regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with ER, ICU, Surgery, and specialty teams
- Support a positive, professional, and emotionally intelligent culture
Preferred Qualifications
- Veterinary Technician experience required
- Internal Medicine or specialty experience preferred
- ER/Critical Care experience is a plus
- CVT/LVT/RVT preferred but not required
- Strong technical skills including:
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Patient monitoring
- Radiology assistance
- Laboratory sample handling
- Experience with ezyVet and/or VetRadar is a plus
